ITINERARY
Enjoy a half-day tour discovering the main passions of Rio de Janeiro's residents. Get an authentic and special experience as you discover exclusive areas of the greatest temple of Brazilian soccer and discover what Rio Carnival was created directly from the City of Samba.
Start the tour at the Maracanã stadium, going behind the scenes of the most important soccer stadium in Brazil. See the collection of historical objects about important moments, matches, and players at the stadium; such as pieces provided by Zico, a number 7 jersey worn by Mané Garrincha in the Cup of 62, and the ball and net from the soccer King's thousandth goal match.
Also have fun visiting the changing rooms, the field area, and the heating and press conference room. At this time, feel free to take photos next to the sideline of the field, on the bench, or in the crowd area.
Leaving Maracanã, head towards the GRES Academics of Grande Rio barracks and discover the secrets that are revealed only during the Carnival parade: the production of floats and costumes. You'll understand the concepts and work involved during the creation process.
Go through old allegorical components, take photos, and head to the colorful exhibition room. With the images and videos in the classroom, learn about the birth of samba and the samba school parades.
Get in the Carnival mood and choose one of the many legitimate Carnival costumes available to wear and photograph. Learn the basic Samba steps from an expert and finish your tour by experiencing the “flavor of samba” with a typical Brazilian drink, caipirinha. Your party will be complete!
Return to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle.
